The Inner Game of Coaching: An Exploration into What it Means to be an Extraordinary Coach

What would you need to know so that it would make an even greater impact in your coaching? In this workshop we will deepen our appreciation of who we are as learners and the difference that growing awareness, responsibility and trust gives in our coaching and our lives. Through a variety of means - including experiential exercises, self- reflection, group sharing, lecture, and video clips - we will dive into the principles of the Inner Game so that we may better understand what gets in the way of the expression and development of our own potential. This understanding is crucial for developing a better connection with our Self and with our clients. Objective of the session - Participants will learn:

  • What empowers your development and your clients'
  • How to create an environment that brings out performance in yourself and others
  • How to create a learning experience that brings about self-coaching and self-generated development
  • Practical ways to better connect with your Self and your clients
  • A learning paradigm based on fascination and not worry
  • How to overcome the “inner obstacles” of fear, self-doubt, and self-judgment
  • How to develop concentration and self-trust

Coaching Across Cultures with the Cultural Orientations Framework Assessment

Traditional coaching assumes a worldview that is not universally applicable. It is insufficient to address complex and multidimensional challenges in our multicultural and turbulent world.

By integrating the crucial cultural dimension into coaching, coaches can unleash more human potential to achieve important and meaningful objectives. Coaching Across Cultures is in essence a more creative form of coaching. It challenges cultural assumptions and propels you and your coachees beyond previous limitations.

During this session, Philippe Rosinski will explain how powerful ideas inspired by different cultural perspectives can be turned into action to facilitate high performance and high fulfilment, globally and locally. Rather than being ignored or viewed as an obstacle, cultural diversity becomes an opportunity, a source of richness.

Philippe will introduce a new tool, the Cultural Orientations Framework online assessment, which allows to systematically examine cultural orientations of individuals, teams and organizations, to uncover untapped developmental opportunities, and to leverage cultural differences for enabling unity in diversity.

The practical use of this tool in coaching will be illustrated through role-plays (individual coaching) and group facilitation (team coaching).

This pre-conference is aimed at professional coaches (external and internal coaches) preferably already familiar with coaching fundamentals.

  • Find out how to extend beyond your own cultural norms, values, and beliefs when working with colleagues or coaching your clients.
  • Discover creative solutions that leverage cultural differences to address complex and multidimensional challenges.
  • Learn how to embrace diversity and bridge cultural gaps - for more creativity, to live meaningfully, act responsibly, overcome divisions and strive for unity (internally and externally).
  • Discover new tools, particularly the Cultural Orientations Framework online assessment and its applications for individual, team and organizational development.

Coaching Research Symposium
How Research Can Affect and Improve Coaching Performance

Thursday 26 June, 14h – 16h, Hotel Crowne Plaza Geneva

In a competitive market place, coaches today need to have an edge when marketing and demonstrating their skills. One particularly powerful edge is for coaches to be able to assert that their coaching design and techniques have been proven effective through researched studies.

The primary purpose of the symposium is to discuss the ways research is relevant to coach practitioners, both in terms of marketing and also as a method of designing more effective coaching protocols. The symposium is open to any interested professionals, academics, and coaches. Symposium presenters will discuss:
• New developments in outcome research in the field of coaching.
• Specific ways in which research (both outcome research and research from related disciplines) affects coaching performance.
• The relationship between researched theories and coaching practice.

Our goal is twofold: First, we want to inform coach practitioners of new research and the value of research as a marketing tool and in improving coaching performance. Second - and equally important - as researchers we want to learn from practitioners about new practices and techniques that should be verified as effective through research studies.

If you would like to attend the Coaching Research Symposium, please BOOK NOW. Attendance is free to paid conference participants. Non-paid participants: 50 Sfr
