Using Adult Development, Humanistic Psychology and Behavioural Concepts in Coaching Female Executives
There is much discussion about the importance of using evidence based research in coaching. But how exactly is this accomplished in a real day-to-day coaching practice? This session will demonstrate the integration of evidence based theories in a coaching context. We will focus specifically on three theories common to coaching: adult development, humanistic psychology, and behavioural psychology. Adult development and humanistic psychology will be shown to inform a range of coaching situations involving clients at different stages in their lives and at various levels of professional development. Behavioural experiments, tailored to female employees at managerial and executives levels, are used as “homework” activities throughout the coaching process. Session objectives:
1. To inform participants of a range of evidence based theories that can be incorporated in a coaching engagement.
2. To demonstrate the creative use of evidence based theories in coaching executives.
3. To practice using theory in coaching during the session.
